Mm..Mm Good-Rest day in Lone Pine

here is Scott and my parents the
following day unloading the
packs at the trailhead.

Amy demonstrates that hiking
poles have more than one use,
much to Scott's disgust.

We slept in and then had a big breakfast at a cafe. Both Scott and I have enjoyed having our parents meet us on the trail. Our excitment is high and it's fun to share our tales with them. Also, they really enjoy seeing where we are on the trail and joining the adventure for a while. If you've got to come somewhere, Lone Pine isn't too bad. The view of the mountains is so incredible from down in the valley and the drive up to them isn't too bad either.

We will hit the trail in the morning. Our next stop is Vermillion Valley Resort, 8 days away. We can't send out Pocketmail from there so it may be a while before we can send an update.

Until next time, we bid you farewell from the high Sierra and venture into the world of high mountain passes, Mt. Whitney, icy stream crossings, and very possibly bears that may be smarter than me. (That's not too hard.) But, before we part company, we answer some more of your questions! Continue...
